OET-Occupational English Test




Occupational English Test is a paper-based exam designed for medical professionals who wish to go to Australia, New Zealand or Singapore. The test has four modules - Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking. OET evaluates the candidates on the basis of all the above-mentioned skills.

OET is the only international exam, which gives the option to combine any two results from the six exams given in six months. One can club any two good results given in the last six months. This wonderful exemption makes this test flexible enough for students to crack it. The result is declared in 22 days and then one can directly apply for Australia, New Zealand or Singapore. No further study or exams are required after achieving A or B grade in each module of OET, within six attempts.

OET is an International English Language test that assesses the language and communication skills of healthcare professionals who seek to register and practice in an English-speaking environment of Australia and New Zealand.

It provides a valid and reliable assessment of all four language skills: Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking with emphasis on communication in medical and health professional settings.

LISTENING: 40 to 50 mins. 
Two Parts: 
PART A - a conversation between doctor and patient. 
PART B - lecture on any disease by a medical practitioner.

READING: 60 to 75mins, 15 mins Fill-ups and 45/60 mins MCQ's.

WRITING: 45mins. The student has to write a referral letter.

SPEAKING: 20mins approximately. The student has to participate in two role plays as per the situation is given in question paper and everything is recorded.

Reading and listening module is the same for all professions, however, writing and speaking is as per specialization.

The registration of exam is AUS$ 580 and there is one registration date every month across the globe. The exam is valid for two years.
